Monsoon season is coming

The Moken finally achieved some progress by moving into their new homes. This was prefectly timed, because the third week of April is known for the Labong Ceremony. The Labong Ceremony is filled with offerings, traditional music, dance and celebration. It lasts for a few days.

Living in their new homes is already a big step for the Moken. Nevertheless, there is still so much more to be done. The basic needs are in risk for the upcoming monsoon season, because of the fire that destroyed their collected money, materials and food. The monsoon season is six months full of heavy winds and rain.
